First and Last

The Last
Shall be First:
Thoughts and
Encouragements

The Fallopian tube race was the first he won
Beating five hundred million sperm cells was such fun
Then he was born and for a while was the last one
But then in his school sports he wouldn't be outdone

One time he was first and then he was last again
His girlfriend ditched him, said he was last of all men
So he just worked except for a date now and then
And in his job he became number one again

The Last
Shall be First
...Maybe

His company downsized and then he lost his house
And so he was last again and felt like a louse
He found a small job and worked for a man named Strauss
Who's daughter was lovely and soon she was his spouse

The business succeeded and he was first once more
But as he grew old even walking was a chore
And so he was once again the last as before
In the grave we're all last awaiting heaven's door
