Late to Put my Garden in

The Vegetable Gardener's Bible

I'm late to put my garden in
So far the rain has had a win
The ground's so wet I'd grow a fin
And so I've had to wait and grin

Spring's almost gone and summer's near
Time to dust off my planting gear
I'll plant some seeds and then I'll cheer
The rabbits wait — so do the deer

So no more rain let's make a close
It's time for me to plant some rows
And feel the dirt between my toes
Relax until my garden grows

I can relax until the weeds
Begin their dastardly misdeeds
That's what we do to meet the needs
As family and wildlife feeds
