Oh what a dull and dreary day
Look out the window — may I say
I'd rather be right here and lay
It's cold and wet, inside I'll stay
Raindrops are falling from the sky
I didn't know that clouds could cry
Let's stay inside until it's dry
And have a slice of apple pie
Watch an old movie on TV
Or play some cards and sip Chablis
Talk religion and disagree
Heat the kettle and drink some tea
It's not so dreary after all
There's lots to do you may recall
Rug up real warm or wear a shawl
There's always something to enthrall
