It's summer and I feel the heatI'm sunburned and look like a beet
It is so hot, I've lost the plot
And wish that summer would retreat
It hasn't rained the garden's beat
The ground's like reinforced concrete
Our veggie plot has gone to pot
The corn and cabbage look downbeat

Detoxifying is completePerspiring in the summer heat
But I cannot take this a lot
And sweating's really not a treat
So in the summer I will cheat
And move inside to beat the heat
Where I will squat in a cool spot
And sip on something cold and sweet
