Church preachers are a varied lot
Some are exciting some are not
Some are just cool and some are hot
And some preach well and some cannot

Though some preach loud and some may not
They emphasize what we forgot
And how the world has gone to pot
With words just like a gentle swat

They teach us things that Jesus taught
His parables and what he thought
And how upon the cross he bought
And paid for all the ills we've wrought

And now that Jesus paid the lot
Removed from us our deadly blot
We are all left without a spot
Eternal peace and bliss we've got
